Zipper Interactive’s upcoming FPS game called MAG (Massive Action Game), if you have never heard of it yet, it’s a 256 online player supported military FPS promises to deliver combat on an unprecedented scale, coming to PlayStation 3 later this year. To get players geared up for the game, the MAG team has been releasing weekly Dev Diaries on the official PlayStation Blog to teas and inform. Lead designer Andy Beaudom speaks this week on the three groups of private military contractors players can choose from in the game: Raven, Valor, and S.V.E.R.

Raven PMC is described as high-tech and polished, as they sport the latest high-tech gadgetry and weapons and have a slick, semi-futuristic style to their outfits and bases. S.V.E.R is the preferred choice for madmen and psychopaths. Valor is the most traditional military group of the three, and will be the obvious choice for Modern Warfare fans.

Along with the new available Map Pack 2 , Treyarch have released a new patch which not only adds support for the new content, but fixes numerous bugs and glitches too. You will notice a TU / Patch downloading for Call of Duty: World at War just before Map Pack 2 goes live on the Xbox live Marketplace and Playstation Store .

Patch v1.5 applies to both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of the game and Treyarch Community Manager JD_2020 was kind enough to let us know in advance whats in store in the patch.

“This list applies to both platforms:

Significantly streamlined MP matchmaking.

Increased the number of safety checks in the MP spawn system to prevent players from spawning within the line of sight of an enemy.

Implemented a new stats backup system – this system creates a regular backup snapshot of player stats; if the game detects data corruption, instead of attempting to reset the player to level 1, it will notify the player that their stats have been restored to the most recent backup.

Addressed a rare occurrence referred to as the “dummy glitch” in MP, where players would appear to be prone in 3rd person but would have a standing view in 1st person.

Patched several possible MP map exploits.

Improved dog spawning in MP.

Improved AI path-finding in Nazi Zombies to prevent potential exploits.

There are several additional minor improvements included with today’s update, but this list includes the most significant items.”

Activision and Treyarch confirmed a Call of Duty World at War Map Pack 2 to be released sometime in June on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Map Pack 1 was the first set of downloadable maps, and many agreed that it was just ok.

Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 2 delivers three new multiplayer maps and one new zombie map to Treyarch’s World War II shooter. Fight for control of a river bridge in Banzai; battle across a run-down Russian train yard in Corrosion; or fight claustrophobia as well as the enemy in the close-quarters map, Sub Pens.

That’s nice, but what about the zombies? Shi No Numa (Zombie Swamp) is a brand-new co-op experience, with fallen Japanese troops rising to attack players in a misty swamp environment. The level features traps, flaming Hell Hounds, perk machines, and the new Wunderwaffe DG-2.

All of this, plus 10 more achievements and trophies for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 respectively. check out more details, video, and screenshots after the break ..

SCEE just announced a Flash and Thunder Map Pack for Killzone 2, The DLC will include the Beach Head and Southern Hills maps from the first Killzone, remade for PS3, Players will be able to revisit the maps “Beach Head” and “The Southern Hills” from the first Killzone; the former map involving a coastal Helghast attack and the latter, an ISA attack on a hilltop installation.

The “Flash and Thunder” map pack will be available on the Playstation Network on June 11th, and some reports suggest a likely $5.99 price tag. Check out the full press release after the break.

” Second downloadable Killzone®2 Map Pack announced

Fight your way down memory lane with the Flash and Thunder Pack: two original Killzone® maps remade for PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™)

London, 20th May 2009: The next wave of downloadable content for Killzone®2 on PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) has now been announced. Prepare for a literal blast-from-the-past in the form of the Flash and Thunder Pack: a download from PlayStation®Store featuring the Beach Head and Southern Hills maps. They’re two of the best maps from the original Killzone® for PlayStation®2 – now completely remade for PS3, overflowing with brutal combat between the ISA and the merciless Helghast and offering gamers even more ways to play the first-person shooter that everyone’s talking about.

The Beach Head map sees the ISA tasked with defending a coastal stronghold against a Helghast landing force. This rain-lashed and windswept battlefield is limited in size – which means more action, more hand-to-hand combat, plenty of sneaking up on the enemy and melee kills galore. The Southern Hills map sees the ISA attempting to storm a Helghast compound on top of a hill. A mixture of built-up terrain and wide open spaces – perfect for headshot sniper kills – this map is full of hiding places and offers the perfect battlefield for a large-scale game with lots of players.

The Flash and Thunder Pack is the second awesome instalment of downloadable extra content for Killzone 2 on PS3 and will arrive in PlayStation®Store on (11th of June 2009). To find out more, please contact your local PR manager. “

Here’s a complete guide on how to reach all trophies for Call of Duty WaW 5 PS3. All of the first 15 trophies are about beating the specific levels on Veteran, some others are a bit difficult but I’ve included descriptions and videos on how to achieve them. Guide after the break ..

Get Your Hands Dirty (Bronze) - Complete ‘Semper Fi’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Bloody Peleliu (Bronze) - Complete ‘Little Resistance’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

The Sword Is Broken (Bronze) - Complete ‘Hard Landing’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Architect (Bronze) - Complete ‘Vendetta’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

The Hammer Strikes (Bronze) - Complete ‘Their Land, Their Blood’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Scorched Earth (Bronze) - Complete ‘Burn ‘em Out’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Fearless (Bronze) - Complete ‘Relentless’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Hell on Wheels (Bronze) - Complete ‘Blood and Iron’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

No Return (Bronze) - Complete ‘Ring of Steel’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)
This trophy is achieved when completing the game on Veteran difficulty.

“When It Rains, It Pours” (Bronze) - Complete ‘Eviction’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

One Bad Gato (Bronze) - Complete ‘Blackcats’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Blowtorch and Corkscrew (Bronze) - Complete ‘Blowtorch and Corkscrew’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

The Sun Sets (Bronze) - Complete ‘Breaking Point’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

For the Motherland (Bronze) - Complete ‘Heart of the Reich’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Bearing the Burden (Bronze) - Complete ‘Downfall’ on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Saved Private Ryan (Bronze) - Save the soldier before he burns to death.
Shoot or melee the burning Japanese soldier in the first level when he charges Private Ryan. Shouldn’t be a real problem.

Weapon of Mass Destruction (Bronze) - Radio in a naval bombardment that kills at least 4 Japanese soldiers.
At the beginning of the level, you will find an MG nest and a ton of soldiers are suppressing you. You are given a radio that can call in artillery barrages every 20 seconds or so. First, take out the MG nest - this is to make sure you don’t get killed so quickly. Once you’ve done that, just look for a group of four soldiers somewhere and call in a barrage on them. If you can’t get it here, then you can wait until later in the level You’ll be in a building with two mounted MGs, and outside are a lot of enemies ready to shoot at you. Drop a barrage on them and then they will be killed. If you hadn’t done it before you should get the trophy now.

Lights Out! (Bronze) - In ‘Black Cats’, blast out all of the spot lights in the Japanese cargo convoy. (Solo only)
The spot lights are at both ends of the three ships. Just shoot them.

Rough Economy (Bronze) - Kill 3 enemies with a single round.
The best way to do this is outside the building that’s mentioned at the end of the Weapon of Mass Destruction trophy. Wait for three troops to line up, use a sniper for a headshot.

Guardian Angel (Bronze) - In the final battle for Okinawa, save Sergeant Roebuck.
When Roebuck and Polonsky go to negotiate with the “surrendering” Japanese, watch the two Japanese soldiers near Roebuck. When the grenade goes off near Polonsky, shoot the two soldiers to save Roebuck, which somehow means Polonsky dies instead.

Close Shave (Bronze) - Survive a banzai attack. (Solo only)
When a Japanese soldier runs up to you trying to bayonet you, press R3 and shove it into his neck!

Snake in the Grass (Bronze) - Take out a Japanese soldier lying in wait in the grass.
The easiest mission to get this trophy is “Hard Landing”. You can do this and the ‘No Safe Place’ trophy on this mission. It’s about the middle of the level. You’ll hear a soldier tell you that there is a hike ahead of you until the next objective. When you are running down a sandy road you’ll see a load of palm trees ahead of you. In the grass there is a Japanese troop, safest option is to throw a grenade.

No Safe Place (Bronze) - Burn an enemy out of a tree with the flamethrower in ‘Hard Landing’.
The first tree near where you killed the soldier in the grass has a sniper up it. Just run up to the tree on the right and burn it with a flamethrower, killing the enemy.

Purple Heart (Bronze) - When staring into the face of adversity, show courage and persevere.
The best way to get this trophy is die at the same checkpoint 10 times and the trophy will unlock.

Ruthless (Bronze) - Kill 15 enemies while mounted on a tank in ‘Ring of Steel’.
In ‘Ring Of Steel’ near the end of the level, you will see two tanks. Get in the first one and kill 15 enemies.

Mortar-dom (Bronze) - Kill 8 Japanese with thrown mortars in ‘Breaking Point.
If you find the mortars, they’re plenty destructive, so just use them and nothing else for a while until you get the trophy confirmation.

Shot in the Dark (Bronze) - Kill 10 enemies while the lights are out in the subway in ‘Eviction’.
In ‘Eviction’, near to the end whilst you are in the subway, the lights will go on and off every now and again. When the lights are out kill as many people as you can. Once you’ve killed ten this trophy will unlock.

Blue Ribbon (Bronze) - Complete a 4-player Competitive Co-Op match in 1st place. (Online co-op Only)
This is the same, as ‘Get Your Right Foot Wet’ except you must win. There also must be three other players with you.

Get Your Left Foot Wet (Bronze) - Complete a match in Campaign Co-Op mode. (Online co-op only)
Complete a match in Campaign Co-Op mode. Don’t worry, you don’t have to win just finish a game.

Get Your Right Foot Wet (Bronze) - Complete a match in Competitive Co-Op mode. (Online co-op only)
Complete an online match in Competitive Co-Op mode you don’t have to win just complete one.

Carlson’s Raiders (Silver) - Complete ‘Semper Fi’ on any difficulty. (Solo only)
Complete the first mission on any difficulty.

Stormed Peleliu (Silver) - Establish a beachhead at Peleliu Island on any difficulty. (Solo only)
Complete the mission on ‘Relentless’ and this trophy will pop up.

The Last Stand (Silver) - Survive the conflict in Okinawa on any difficulty. (Solo only)
Complete the mission ‘Breaking Point’ and this trohpy will unlock.

Stabbed in the Heart (Silver) - Complete all missions on the Eastern Front on any difficulty. (Solo only)
Complete the last mission and trophy will unlock.

The Professional (Silver) - Shoot all of Amsel’s henchmen, including their attack dog, without reloading. (Solo only)
Once you realize that you can kill two guards with one bullet if they are behind one another, this is fairly easy. Shoot the right pair, the middle pair, and the left pair (two bullets for them), then a guard will come out. Don’t shoot him until his dog comes out and sticks its nose behind his left leg, when you can get both of them at once. Check out video :

Gunslinger (Silver) - Assassinate General Amsel with a pistol shot. (Solo only)
This trophy is also in “Vendetta” mission. It’s a long distance between you and Amsel. This can take several tries, but with some patience and a steady aim you should get this! First, you’ll need a pistol. There is a table with a Walther on it. Then, you’ll get to a point where Reknov has you standing at a window and you are waiting for Amsel to walk out with some bodyguards. He will come out and hide behind a tank. A sniper will pop out from behind that tank to kill you. Make sure you take him out first. If you then keep your gun in the same spot that you were when headshot the sniper, you can headshot Amsel as well.

Grave Robber (Silver) - Collect all Death Cards in the game. (Solo only)

Click here to view the embedded video.

Throw a Six and a Half (Silver) - On Hardened or Veteran difficulty, complete a level without dying. (Solo only)
This is easiest on “Eviction” on Hardened. It is just a case of being careful. Make sure you are good at using the left trigger “auto-aim”. This helps! Carry an automatic weapon as well as a rifle as it will help with switch-off needs. Other than that, take your time and you’ll get the trophy. Shamefully, if you die… you’ll have to do it ALL again.

Firestarter (Silver) - Complete a level using only the flamethrower. (Melee, grenades & explosives are OK.)
The easiest mission to do it on is “Burn ‘Em Out”. You are given the flamethrower from the start. Use your melee attack, grenades, explosives, and flamethrower to complete the level and get your trophy.

Kamikaze (Silver)- Complete a level on Regular difficulty or higher using only melee or grenades. (Solo only)
This is easiest to do on “Semper Fi”. Grenades are not always in high supply so this can be quite hard. “Semper Fi” is a very easy of a level and is perfect for this trophy.

Iron Fist (Silver) - Destroy all towers and bunkers in ‘Blood and Iron’.
In ‘Blood and Iron’ destroy all bunkers and towers and before you complete the level. Make sure they are all destroyed and this trophy will unlock.

Sum of All Zeros (Silver) - Down 45 Japanese Zeros in ‘Black Cats’. (Solo only)
Difficult, Don’t try to rescue survivors, and make sure you get a lot shot down in the initial crowd of them. check out this video on how to get it :

Click here to view the embedded video.

Hardened War Hero (Gold) - Complete the game on Hardened or Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)
Complete the game in single player on Hardened or Veteran and this trophy will unlock.

War Hero (Gold) - Complete the game on any difficulty. (Solo only)
Complete the game on ANY difficulty and this trophy will unlock.

Platinum (Platinum) - Awarded when you unlock all other trophies.
Unlock all trophies.

Update : Here are the new trophies for the upcoming Map Pack 2 DLC :
